About the Museum

The museum is located within the Kedar Heritage Lodge, Conference Centre & Spa. The property has been beautifully restored to its former glory, and visitors can explore a collection of unique historic buildings, including Kruger’s former farmhouse, which was destroyed by British forces during the Boer War. In addition to the farmhouse, visitors can also explore the surrounding property, which features family graves, the koppie where Kruger sought religious guidance, and the saddle in the hills where he hid his horses from British forces.

Inside the museum, visitors can view a range of exhibits, including Kruger’s rifle, many of his bibles, and the bellows organ played by his wife. There are also numerous gifts given to him by visiting state dignitaries, as well as monuments to the fighting men of the Anglo Boer War created by renowned South African artist Adam Madebe.
