Ouma se Huis Museum is a relatively recent project brought to life by the Federation of Afrikaans Cultural Associations or rather Federasie van Afrikaanse Kultuurvereniginge (FAK). The museum is housed in a meticulously renovated farmhouse at Udolpho Rivierplaas in Parys. The farmhouse, aptly named Grandma’s House or Ouma se Huis, is a collaborative effort between FAK, the Heritage Foundation, and various stakeholders. This initiative aims to recreate the authentic Afrikaans home experience, allowing visitors, especially children, to immerse themselves in the traditions of the past.
